History, Mission and Vision
The first TAD organisation was established in NSW in the early 70’s, and the organisations in all other states and the ACT were progressively established in the 70’s and 80’s. All are volunteer based and driven organizations with very few paid support staff – less than forty full and part time in total.
The broad mission of TADAustralia is to provide an effective national mechanism and forum to support the vital work and services provided by State and Territory TADs.
TADAustralia aims to enable people with a disability, including frail aged people, and their carers to access quality services delivered by TADs Australia wide.
TADAustralia also aims to undertake and coordinate national promotional activities to raise the profile of all TADs.
