AMWAY has a long history of providing hope and opportunity to the community through charitable contributions. Since 2003, AMWAY has supported the One by One campaign, which rallies the resources of all global stakeholders of Amway including Amway’s IBOs (Independent Business Owners), employees, affiliates and customers to make a difference to millions of children across the globe.

AMWAY of Australia through the One by One Trust has partnered with Technical Aid to the Disabled (TADNSW) as the Principle Corporate Sponsor of Freedom Wheels(R), a program designed to allow children with disabilities the opportunity to ride their own custom modified bicycle.

An initial contribution of $100,000 was made to TADNSW by AMWAY Regional Vice President Peter Williams in November 2006 with an additional $50,000 being provided to fast track the service into Queensland. Another contribution of $100,000 has been pledged for 1 November 2007.

Fundraising efforts are under way to add to these initial contributions to enable the Freedom Wheels campaign, which currently operates in NSW, QLD and VIC to expand and be offered nationally. Mobile Freedom Wheels vans are just one of the ways in which the programme is being taken to regional Australia.

Amway of AustraliaGeneral Counsel of Amway of Australia, New Zealand Tony Greig, believes it is Amway’s responsibility to give back to the community. “Freedom of movement is one thing we all take for granted but at Amway we believe it is a ‘rite of passage’ for every Australian child, irrespective of their disability, to experience the joy of riding their first bike. That ‘rite of passage’ is why we are so committed to reaching out to them through the Freedom Wheels program.”
